Hi Chappie Its Simon I thought about putting one of these on my standard gp 200, but bear in mind the crank and seals and the extra strain on them, I decided that I would have to change both of these to cope with the extra load placed on the engine, it seems like a quick way to catch up that bloke on an RB but could end in tears. What I have thought about doing is to change the carb for a 28 or 30 MM carb on but lets face it unless youve got a bit of money to pay some one who knows what is what its a bit of a gamble, but hey whats life all about. Dont forget next time I see you I owe a breakfast. Simon

Im not really after being able to match Gary for top end , obviously these kits are a fraction of the cost of an RB/TS for a reason... i would be happy with a nominal increase in power, and maybe upgrade the carb and gain extra 10mph cruising.... is this a viable route ?? Like i say, i would just like the GP to have the same kick/ burst of acceleration that the Vespa has.

Ive got a scooter in at the moment which had the same kit put on the liner is too thin for an air cooled barrel the castings crap on the jacket, it did less than 5 miles and is completely f*cked set fire to your 110 quid at least you wont have stripped your engine and knackered the rest of it! No seriously dont buy one, cheap yes but like everything you get what you pay for the indian GP200 engine is stage 4 tuned as standard, buy a better piston for it and put a 25mm carb on running thru the airbox i promise you itll last longer wont cost you so much and be cheaper to run whilst still giving good performance. Spiv from the Coasters has a SIL GP200 engine in his Lambretta its been fettled uses a 42mm Clubman and 22mm jetex with standard filter and airbox and will do 75 - 80 two up quite comfortably!

Hiya Starkee., Best piston Upgrade is MD Racetour but very expensive, Next best is Asso. in Spivs engine an SR200 Piston was used but these are unavailable in standard size now but asso should be ok. If you go for Asso make sure you get one with the standard length inlet skirt. Incidently Spiv scooter is shortly being fitted with a 25mm carb to replace the Jetex item. 25 mm PHBL is small body and fits neatly with a Scoot RS Manifold which comes straight out the side and clears Airbox Adapter and fits with a GP125 air hose 26mm PHBH is larger body and usualy only fits on Downdraft manifold. you can fit one with a remote filter but this puts more weight on the Carb which makes the Rubber Fitting Adapters split regularly and sucking air in to the detriment of your new piston!
There are other small body carbs like PWK but your better sticking with dellorto as the parts are more readily available from your local shop/rally etc.
