Hi Jim I would start with 4% (thats 2 jugs to every 5 litres of petrol) Its always best to put a little more oil in than not enough oil. You will have to run it in for approx 1000 miles.(thats if the barrel is Iron) if the barrel is alloy then you wont have to run it in for so many miles.. ( ask the guy who built it for you, and buy a little jug for measuring the oil (a Must). The first 100 - 300 miles at no more than 30mph. The next 300-600 miles at no more than 35mph. the next 600 -1000 miles at no more than 45mph. It should be fully run in by the 1000 miles, then you can open her up What i would do is go out on her every day when you get home from work or when you have the spare time, if you do 40 - 50 miles per day then it should only take a few weeks to run in.. What you dont want to do when running a scooter in is let the engine Labour, try and change down and up the gears as much as possible, DONT go up big hills for the first 100 miles as this will put a strain on the engine, and have frequent stops every now and again to cool the barrel down then resume riding... Once run in you can drop down to 3% ( thats 1 and a half jugs to 5 litres of petrol). If you have any probs just give me a shout Chris
