Following this weeks rideout ( glad your ok Mick !) decided to overhaul my rubber. Decided im gonna go for the Schwalbe brand as these seem to be getting good press. Just got to decide between the 'weatherman' or ' 'Raceman'. Just wondered if anyone had allready got either of these fitted , and how they were performing ? Going to fit to both the Lam and Vespa, so might get a set of each and try that way.....

Theres a few of us in the Coasters that are using the Raceman tyres from my point of view i cant fault them, the good thing is that the side wall are very stiff so if you do manage to get a blowout they will keep thier shape so that you dont lose control. Everybody seems to be moving over to tubeless these days but the truth is that most Lambretta tubeless rims havent got beads to keep the tyre in place if you do get a puncture so either way your tyres going to go the sameway that joe blogs with the split rims tyres going to go. providing neither of you have wiped out your scooters Split rims going to get a tube and repair his pretty quick but mr tubeless is going to have to take his tyre and rim into a dealer or if hes lucky he might get it sorted at quickfit thats if the 16 school leaver there doesnt damage his rim! A few mates of mine use Slyme in thier tubes this works brilliantly and dare i say its more likely to save your life than a tubeless rim! Believe me all the above is written with plenty of experience of blowouts in both front and rear tyres and i havent crashed yet touch wood !
