looking at putting a new exhaust on my Lammy. Its a standard GP200 and i just want something to complement this set up. So far i am drawn towards the JL 3 (KRP3) but thought it would be nice to get some advice/reccomendations from those more knowledgable out there......

Hi Mate.,
My advise is save your money, buy an ancilloti exhaust from Camlam ive fitted and tried every make of exhaust you can think of and this ones the best for what your riding. They have a stainless header pipe so it doesnt rust and compared to an AF Clubman they have better ground clearance they are also quieter. i have used an AF clubman on my scooter both in 42 and 48mm form and in total i got thru three in a year as the insides broke up thru metal fatigue i made up an exhaust using a 48 mm header of and AF Clubman but use an Ancilloti which has been adapted to fit and since then ive had no problems its now been on about 2 years. the only downside i had with mine was you cant get to the oil level plug but i think the later ones have been altered. if they havent its easy to change your oil drain out whats in there and measure out 500mil of fresh SAE (not EP) 90 and just pour in the filler you wont need to check the level! i hope this helps if you want any other advise with set up etc my mobile number is 07816142350 Regards Steve

me again.,!!
i just read the bit about the PM pipe.,
You can fit both this or JL 3 with standard carb with Jetting Adjustment the PM pipe will work best also it has better ground clearance but despite being made on a jig every one fits different and you may have to alter slightly ive had to with every one ive fitted regardless of what exhaust you fit if have to struggle to get studs etc to fit the pipe will be stressed and will eventually fracture at the stress point any expansion type exhaust should ideally be float on rubber mount to promote resonance. the PM pipe also has to have the running board trimmed so that the tailpipe clears without this again the pipe will eventually break
HOPE THIS HELPS

Hi
I ran a JL3 on my GP200 using a standard Jetex 22mm and after re jetting it ran well but there was no real noticable increase in power. I now run the same pipe with a 30mm carb and there is a definate difference with this set up compared to standard. In the end the main reason i stuck with this pipe is cos i like the look of it. I found that as well as cutting a piece out of the rear runner i had to modify the bracketry slightly to make it fit without forcing it.
Hope this helps

30mm carb gives additional power but higher fuel consumption, like everything else its horses for courses. Every tuning/scooter shop will tell you something different to be honest most people change the exhaust according to looks not power output, every shop will tell you thier product is better than joe blogs down the road, you will hear that this did that and that did this on the Dyno truth is most people who shell out thier money end up very disapointed! Depending on what you want to use the scooter for is what dictates how you build the engine ideally you want to run somesort of filter system remote filters work but add weight to the carb mount which will eventually deterioate and split which could leave you stranded you can run a 30 mill carb thru the airbox filter with a few mods to the airbox and because of the hose on the mouth of the carb it better supports the weight of the carb. Standard carbs use a lot less fuel the engine doesnt have to run on uprated components theyre not as fast but usually still make it to thier destination and the scooter still looks good with whatever exhaust you want to use. Its the Tortoise and hare story really!

Thanks for that doc... i guess i really just want to leave the engine standard for reliability . I liked the look of the JL pipe( im just a tart !) and I thought it would enhance the overall effect of my scoot but like you say when i get where im going not to passers by when im sitting on the hard shoulder !! ;D ;D

... Have fitted a AF Fresco... as above the engine is standard 200 , 22mm jetex carb and the main jet is 118, its running like s*** and just keeps dying ( unless i keep revving, no tickover .....so i guess i could do with setting the carb up, so from the begining.... so let the advice begin... ;D ;D Many thanks

Hi Starkee, assuming that the Pipe flange to Cylinder is sealed tight with gasket and the chamber to pipe is good fit you will probably need to go up to 122 main jet and 48 pilot. standard pilot should be 45. the 118 main jet is too small for the engine all the sil engines i fit get re jetted to 120 main. Its difficult to explain without hearing the scooter running. weak jetting at the bottom normally the engine picks up slow with boowah sound from the carb suddenly revs a bit quicker close the throttle and the revs drop very slow at first then dying completely if you get stuck my numbers 07816142350 good luck!
